The trip was organized by the Baureihe E10 e.V..

The journey began in the morning in the direction of Erfurt, where we arrived around midday and had time to explore Erfurt and the Christmas market throughout the day.
In the evening we returned home from Erfurt.

The trip was made with a historic InterCity train of the German Federal Railways from the 1980s in Rheingold livery with 1st class large-capacity coaches of type Apmz 121.0, 1st class compartment coaches of type Avmz 111.1, 2nd class compartment coaches of type Bm235, a TEE dining car of type ARmz 211 and a TEE club car of type WGmh 854, pulled by a DB class 103 (103 245-7).

After a long time in reconditioning, repair and main inspection, the P8 (38 2267) was also under steam again for the first time and offered a cab ride in alternation with the Hespertalbahn D5.
